Updated Spring 2020 Hours and Information

April is usually one of our busiest months at the Nursery. However, this year so far, our plant and garden shows are cancelled. These include Growing in the Mountains, Montreat Native Plant Sale and the Black Mountain Beautification plant sale. Our participation at the local Farmer’s markets is cancelled for the most part or severely restricted. The Nursery is still open but please call 828-779-1981 or email to make an appointment to come visit. We do ask if you visit that you abide by the safe social distancing conditions. You can also request that we pick and deliver any plants as well. We can take photos and send them to you electronically before any purchase.

The nursery specializes in fine and unusual landscape plants and uncommon specimen trees. This includes Japanese maples, conifers, roses, cherries, blueberries, gardenias, paw paws, figs, cherries, pomegranates and other edible fruits, cold hardy tropicals , select indoor and outdoor plants, and bonsai. Many of our berry and fruit selections will bear this season. All trees are hardy to our local climate.

  1. Hi there! Is there a list of what other fruit trees you have besides what is listed above. Was also wondering what types of cherry trees you have and the cost. Also cost of the pomegranate trees. Thank you so much

    1. The other edibles include Stevens cranberry (small starters), 10, strawberries- one Ozark Beauty in a hanging basket (5),
Red Mulberry trees, Japanese persimmon (a few), Elderberries, Red Raspberries – prices are $10 to $29 depending on size. Also
have cold hardy Russian pomegranate trees for 29, container cherries Romeo and Juliet- self pollinating $39-59 depending on size.
Also, Premiere and Climax blueberries, already with many flowers, $29. I’m also selling seed packets of Simply Salad City Garden mix. $3/pkg, each containing 10 pellets (potential of 3 plants/pellet when properly planted)
